Our Family Tree & Happiness  map

Week 6, Day 2

How much do you know about your extended family?

For the rest of this week, let's take a closer look at what we can do to support and understand our grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins better.

These could be names listed on yesterday’s map, or others you may be less familiar with. Do you know their names and how they are related to you? How much do you know about their needs and interests?

Use our activity sheet to create a family tree, starting from your household and branching out into your extended family. Beyond our relationship to them by blood, how much do you know about their interests & needs? Think about what makes each person happy and include it as well.

If you aren’t able to fill in blanks, interview your parents for information, or reach out and ask the person for yourself!

Hey Parents!

Take this opportunity to share your family history and heritage with your children and get them interested to deepen their relationship with extended family members.

Now is the perfect time to spend some quality time with loved ones near and far over video call!

Turn this activity into a fruitful family tree and happiness map you can use to think about how to support and encourage your relatives.

Something as simple as a friendly family text message to let them know you’re thinking of them could bring some joy to their day!

Thank you for your submission!
